For UK medical schools, the key steps fall in a set order, and starting early makes each one easier. Here is how I support students through it.
Grades first
Secure strong predicted grades, especially in the sciences. Everything else builds on these.
UCAT
The UCAT is sat in the summer before Year 13. We plan the preparation early and practise under timed conditions.
Personal statement
Shape real experiences into a clear, honest account before the mid-October UCAS deadline for medicine.
Interviews
Mock interviews and ethics scenarios, with honest feedback after each one.

Which subjects and year groups do you teach?
Biology only: IGCSE and GCSE (usually Years 10 and 11, sometimes from Year 9) and A-level and IB (Years 12 and 13). I also support students applying to medical school. I don't teach Chemistry, Physics or Maths.
Where did you train, and are you a doctor in the UAE?
I completed my MBBS in Pakistan, then passed the UK's PLAB 1 and PLAB 2 exams and registered with the General Medical Council. I don't practise medicine in the UAE. Here, I work as a private tutor.
What happens in the free 15-minute call?
We talk through your child's year group, exam board, goals and what is getting in the way. You can ask me anything. If I'm not the right tutor for your child, I'll say so. There's no obligation either way.
How often should my child have lessons?
I suggest one hour a week at the same time each week. Some students add a second lesson in the run-up to exams.
When should a future medic start preparing?
Ideally at the start of Year 12. That leaves time to secure strong grades, prepare for the UCAT in the summer, and write the personal statement before the mid-October UCAS deadline in Year 13.
Home visits or online, which is better?
Both work well. Home visits suit younger students and anyone who focuses better in person. Online suits busy schedules, families outside my driving area, and application work such as personal statements and mock interviews. You can mix the two.
Are home lessons supervised?
Yes. For students under 18, I ask that a parent or guardian is at home during the lesson.
Do you give medical advice?
No. I work in the UAE as a tutor only and don't offer medical services or advice. For any health question, please see a licensed doctor in the UAE.
How do I pay, and what if we need to cancel?
Pay per lesson by bank transfer or card. There are no packages to buy up front. Please give 24 hours' notice to cancel or move a lesson.
What if it isn't the right fit?
Because you pay per lesson, you're never locked in. If it isn't working for your child, you simply stop, and I'll tell you honestly if I think another approach would serve them better.
